ABOUT

Seth Pettersen is a native Californian. Skateboarding and Punk Rock were introduced to his life early on. He started playing the drums at the tender age of 13, and played in various garage bands throughout junior high and high school. When he was 16 years old he picked up the guitar and started the band Franklin for Short with lifelong collaborator Trevor Beld (Tall Tales and the Silver Lining). In its existence, Franklin for Short has recorded over 7 albums and toured extensively throughout the great state of California and other parts of the USA. In 2003 Seth recorded a home demo called “Out of the Picture”, which for the first time featured Seth on every instrument. In 2005, he took another stab at a completely solo effort, 12 songs which he titled “Warmth” (available on iTunes). The year 2009 saw Seth effortlessly record his strongest solo record to date, “So Fully” which will be available worldwide Spring 2010, as a duel release between Beehouse Records and SomisSound.

As a live performer Seth Pettersen has shared the stage with such notable acts as: Kings of Convenience, Violent Femmes, Feist, Frank Black, the Tyde, Beau Young, Timmy Curran, Tom Curren, Blitzen Trapper, Rubies, Little Wings, Japanese Motors, Surfer Blood, and many more.

Seth Pettersen & The Undertow played a benefit concert with Donavon Frankenreiter at the Slidebar in Fullerton, CA. Proceeds from the concert went to benefit the Love Hope Strength Foundation.
