Colorado Artists Collaborate on one-of-a-kind CD to benefit Love Hope Strength

November 14, 2013. In one of the coolest Denver music collaborations in recent memory, singer-songwriter Megan Burtt and a few of her friends took the stage at the Soiled Dove Underground to celebrate the release of a special CD project to benefit Love Hope Strength.

The album, titled In Good Company: Megan Burtt & Friends vol. 1, The Colorado Sessions, is pretty much what the title suggests: Burtt collaborated in writing eleven original songs with some of the best songwriters and bands in Colorado, including:

  • Covenhoven
  • SHEL
  • Rachel and the Kings
  • Chris Heckman (The Epilogues)
  • Chimney Choir
  • Reed Foehl
  • Chris Daniels
  • Bop Skizzum
  • Tyler Despres (Science Partner)
  • The Congress, and
  • John Magne (The Subdudes)

The collaboration was largely a labor of love with many people volunteering time and creative energy to put it together. Proceeds from the sale of the album will benefit Love Hope Strength, a Colorado NGO that saves lives through campaigning to add names to the bone marrow registry at concert events and by helping to build cancer centers around the world. Only 1000 “hard copies” of the CD are being printed, after which the album will still be available for sale digitally.

In Good Company and the CD release concert not only benefit a great cause, but the collaboration itself serves as a great example of what makes the Denver music community great.
