About the Show – Hosted by Nick & Helen Forster

In this week’s broadcast. eTown hosts Nick and Helen Forster welcome up-and-coming British act The Dunwells and Texas legend Joe Ely. In just a few short years, The Dunwells have managed to transport their music from the pubs, clubs and open mic nights of Leeds, England to the hearts and minds of listeners in the United States. The band’s debut album, Blind Sighted Faith, was recorded at Willie Nelson’s famed Pedernales Studio outside of Austin, and is sure to further the band’s momentum that has already catapulted them onto to the stage with such artists as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Mumford and Sons. Rounding out the show is legendary Texas musician Joe Ely, who is perhaps best know as a founding member of the prolific group The Flatlanders, a band that has made several stops in eTown during the program’s 21 years. Ely’s genre-crossing career has found him performing with everyone from Bruce Springsteen, Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett and even The Clash, and we are honored to have him back with us. It’s a full episode of great music and conversation, and a great E-Chievement Award story this week. Be sure to tune in!
