LHS is on tour with the amazing musicians of Linkin Park again this winter!
Not only are Linkin Park fans extremely loyal to the band, they happen to have some phenemonal DNA! To date, we’ve jumped on a total of 24 shows during both the Incubus and Carnivore tours, signing up an admirable 903 Linkin Park fans to the national bone marrow registry through our partners at Delete Blood Cancer. And while it is newsworthy that so many fans are generous enough to step up to potentially save the life of a complete stranger in need of a transplant, the truly astounding numbers come from the large number of matches that have been made from those 903 fans.
According to the National Marrow Donor Registry (NMDP), the odds of someone becoming a match is roughly 1 in 500. That means that, technically, with close to 1,000 new registrants, there should have been 2 potentially lifesaving matches found to date.
Apparently no one has told the Linkin Park fans these statistics. As of today there have been 16 fans who have been told they are a match for someone between the ages of 6 months and 60 years old fighting a blood cancer whose only hope for a cure is through a marrow transplant.
If you’d like to be one of the few, elite, honored heroes who has the unique opportunity to be the only one who can offer hope to someone in need, be sure and stop by the LHS table and sign up to be a marrow donor. Odds are pretty good that you’ll be a match. The following is a current list of the LP shows where you can find LHS. Stay tuned for additional dates!
