As a way to inform the public about cancer and bone marrow donations, MidState Medical Center and Holiday Cinema Stadium in Wallingford are partnering for a bone marrow drive and documentary screening.
The public is welcome to attend a free screening of “More to Live For” on April 11 at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Cinema. The movie tells the story of three men diagnosed with cancer looking for a bone marrow match that could save their lives. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the film’s producer, Susan Brecker, and to add their name to the national bone marrow registry with a cheek swab. Cells collected determine a person’s tissue type.
“After they see the film, 100 percent of the eligible audience gets tested,” said Brecker, a New York resident. “It’s very moving.”
