School of Rock is thrilled to announce they are teaming up with Love Hope Strength this summer for their annual AllStars national benefit tour. Headlining the 21-city tour are the School of Rock AllStars, representing the top tier talent coming out of the national music program. For the first time the tour will primarily stop at major music festivals such as Warped Tour, Summerfest, Red Rocks Film on the Rocks, Ribfest and Gathering of the Vibes, in addition to select club venues. The tour will feature five touring groups showcasing talented AllStars from the West Coast, South, Midwest and East Coast.
Driven by a purpose “to inspire kids to rock on stage and in life,” the AllStars tour gives students the opportunity to perform at prestigious venues and festivals in front of thousands of fans, as well as make a difference in the lives of others. Students will help drive awareness for the charity’s GET ON THE LIST campaign beyond the stage by encouraging people to sign up to be a marrow donor with DKMS Americas.
“We have roughly 200 bone marrow drives scheduled this summer and are stretched thin with volunteers and resources. Each time we have to turn down the opportunity to swab cheeks we feel we could be missing an opportunity to find that ONE person that could save a life,” says Shannon Foley, executive director of Love Hope Strength. “Teaming up with the kids of School of Rock gives us the opportunity to be at more concerts and festivals than we ever could without them. Every person these kids register could mean the difference between life or death for a patient with blood cancer. Without the School of Rock, we simply could not do it all!”
“I am thrilled with the way our 2012 AllStar tour is shaping up. We have the privilege of playing on some of the most inspiring stages in the country this summer including, The Warped Tour, Ribfest, Summerfest, Gathering of the Vibes, and Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater,” says Chris Catalano, CEO of School of Rock. “It is especially inspiring partnering with Love Hope and Strength in support of their wonderful commitment to matching bone marrow donors with patients in need.”
School of Rock students continuously participate in special events and activities year-round to help raise awareness and funding for charitable causes and partnered with Love Hope Strength on a recent program-wide song competition.
