Tomorrow marks one year since Mike died
I’m not one for dwelling on anniversaries and ‘firsts’ so I’d like to breeze through tomorrow ideally, like any other day, as every day is a day to think about Mike and acknowledge our shared love for him.
I remember Mike saying at the funeral of his beautiful mum, Marjorie, “death is as beautiful as life”.
I understand more than ever the sentiment of what he was conveying when he spoke from the heart at Prestatyn Parish Church.
It seems fitting that tomorrow we launch a safe space for all cancer patients and survivors at The Red to gather together, share their thoughts, their fears, their joys, just the complexities of living life and dealing with all that is thrown at all of us… as well as appreciating all the wonders and happiness that we are blessed with
The Red Breasts (a monthly meeting of Breast cancer survivors and patients) has been so successful, and as a result we were approached by people who had cancer other than ‘breast’ and they told us how they’d like to come along so we’ve created another group!
Long term I have a feeling this will become a weekly midweek hang out, a place where people can feel safe and hopefully gain some strength to face the future…
So that’s where you’ll find me and the family tomorrow.
From 12 noon at The Red, please feel free to pop in for a natter and a hug.
For those who are not in the area I would like to invite you all to share your happy memories of Mike. Please tag me on the socials and let’s flood the world with the spirit of Michael Leslie Peters, without whom our lives would have been very different.
Feeling blessed, fortunate, honoured to have loved him.
Walk Forever
